Certified Sustainable

As a Certified Sustainable Library, we are committed to following the “triple-bottom line” definition of sustainability by embodying practices that are environmentally sound, economically feasible and socially equitable. In 2017, the Library enrolled in the Sustainable Libraries Initiative’s Certification program. We became the second library in the United States to achieve this one-of-a-kind certification in 2019.

Repair Cafe

Toss it? No way! Bring an item that needs repair and work with a Repair Café coach to fix it. This free program is in partnership with Sustainable Saratoga throughout the year.

We held our first Repair Café on June 16, 2018 and we are amazed at how quickly this event became popular in the community. People visiting the Repair Café bring along their broken items from home, and various volunteer repair coaches are on hand to help repair broken items free of charge. We have tools and commonly needed materials on hand during the event.
